Algeria launches 40 digital training programs to modernize vocational education
New initiative aims to bridge digital skills gap and align training with labor market needs
ALGIERS, Algeria (MNTV) — Algeria has introduced 40 new vocational training programs focused on key digital sectors, as part of its broader strategy to modernize technical education and meet the demands of a fast-evolving labor market.
Unveiled ahead of the upcoming vocational training session, the programs target high-growth fields such as software development, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, data analytics, and digital marketing.
The initiative was developed by a team of 70 educators and curriculum experts in collaboration with the Algerian Digital Actors Group (GAAN) and several prominent national and international tech firms.
Senior government officials inaugurated the launch with a visit to the Digital Excellence Center in Rahmania, where they interacted with trainees and reviewed a series of student-led digital projects.
The visit highlighted the technical quality and innovation emerging from the new curriculum.
Officials described the move as a significant step in Algeria’s ongoing vocational training reform, designed to ensure that graduates are equipped with practical, market-relevant digital competencies.
The new courses also reflect the government’s broader push toward digital transformation and youth empowerment.
By focusing on emerging technologies, the program aims to enhance employability and strengthen Algeria’s position in the regional digital economy.
Officials expect the initiative to contribute to job creation, entrepreneurship, and the development of a more resilient and innovation-oriented tech ecosystem.
