Saudi Arabia, Bahrain sign multiple agreements to boost cooperation
Leaders finalize MoUs on nuclear safety, taxation, investment, and sustainable development to strengthen bilateral relations
MANAMA, Bahrain (MNTV) — Saudi Arabia and Bahrain have signed a series of agreements and memoranda of understanding (MoUs) to expand cooperation across multiple sectors, including nuclear safety, investment, taxation, and sustainable development.
The agreements were concluded during the fourth session of the Saudi-Bahraini Coordination Council, co-chaired by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Bahraini Crown Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
The session, held under the directives of Saudi King Salman and Bahraini King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, highlighted the close ties and longstanding partnership between the two nations.
Senior officials and committee heads from both countries attended the meeting, which aimed to strengthen collaboration in economic, social, and strategic fields.
On the sidelines, key MoUs and agreements were signed, including:
- An MoU on nuclear safety and radiation protection between Saudi Arabia’s Nuclear and Radiological Regulatory Commission and Bahrain’s Supreme Council for Environment.
- A cooperation program for diplomatic studies between the Prince Saud Al-Faisal Institute and Bahrain’s Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa Academy.
- An agreement for the avoidance of double taxation between the Saudi Ministry of Investment and Bahrain’s Ministry of Finance.
- MoUs covering sustainable development, competition promotion, direct investment, railway collaboration, higher education partnerships, and nonprofit sector development.
Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman praised the Bahraini leadership for the warm reception and efficient organization, emphasizing the constructive outcomes of the session.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to advancing bilateral relations, enhancing economic and strategic cooperation, and ensuring continued stability and prosperity in the region.
The fifth session of the Saudi-Bahraini Coordination Council is scheduled to take place in Saudi Arabia at a future date to be announced.
