Israel strikes kill 75 in Gaza as hunger deaths climb to 303
Health Ministry says 75 killed in 24 hours, including aid seekers; hunger deaths reach 303 as West Bank also hit
GAZA, Palestine (MNTV) – At least 75 Palestinians were killed and 370 others wounded in Israeli attacks across the Gaza Strip in the past 24 hours, the Health Ministry said.
The victims included 17 people waiting for desperately needed food aid.
Three more Palestinians, including children, also died of hunger, raising the total starvation toll since October 2023 to 303. Among them are 117 children. Aid groups warn famine is tightening its grip as Israel continues to restrict entry of relief supplies.
The ministry reported multiple deadly strikes, including seven members of a family killed when Israeli fighter jets hit their home in Gaza City’s Sabra neighborhood. Four more died in the Al-Saftawi area, while a mother and her toddler were killed when a warehouse sheltering displaced families in Deir al-Balah was struck.
In Khan Younis, six Palestinians, including three children and their parents, were killed in a tent attack. Other strikes hit refugee camps in Nuseirat and Bureij, killing civilians sheltering under canvas and inside homes. Drone attacks west of Gaza City and shelling near Asdaa prison also added to the casualties.
The Israeli army pressed on with house demolitions using explosives in Jabalia al-Nazla and southern Gaza City as part of an ongoing operation launched August 11.
The violence spread beyond Gaza. In the occupied West Bank, dozens were injured, including a child, in an Israeli raid on Ramallah and the nearby city of el-Bireh.
The humanitarian crisis deepened as Gaza’s media office said only 2,654 aid trucks entered in the past month—an average of 88 a day, just 15 percent of the need. Israel’s COGAT authority claims 300–400 trucks are allowed daily, but those figures are disputed by Palestinians, the UN, and Israel’s own records.
International outrage has grown after Israel’s strike on Nasser Hospital killed 21 people, including five journalists. Canada, Egypt, Iran, and Saudi Arabia condemned the attack, with Tehran calling it a “barbaric war crime.”
Diplomatic pressure is mounting. More than 200 former EU ambassadors and senior diplomats signed an open letter urging the bloc to suspend arms sales, impose sanctions, halt joint projects, and restrict trade with Israeli settlements.
Inside Israel, hundreds demonstrated Tuesday for a ceasefire and a prisoner swap with Palestinians, gathering outside the homes of government ministers, including Foreign Minister Gideon Saar and Strategic Affairs Minister Ron Dermer.
Qatar, acting as a mediator, said it is still waiting for Israel’s response to a proposed truce and captive release framework accepted by Hamas over a week ago. “The statements that we are hearing right now do not fill us with confidence,” said Foreign Ministry spokesman Majed al-Ansari.
Since October 2023, Israel’s war has killed at least 62,819 Palestinians and wounded 158,629, according to Gaza health authorities.
