Iranian security chief’s fate unclear after Israeli strikes on Tehran

TEHRAN, Iran (MNTV) — The fate of Iran’s senior security figure Ali Larijani remained uncertain on Tuesday following Israeli airstrikes on Tehran, as conflicting reports emerged from both sides.

Israeli media claimed Larijani was targeted in the attacks, but it remains unclear whether he was killed or injured.

Iranian outlets indicated that Larijani is expected to deliver a public statement later in the day, signaling he may still be alive despite the reported strike.

The developments come as loud explosions were heard across Tehran after a night of intensified bombardment, with Israeli forces stating they had hit what they described as “regime infrastructure.”

The escalation marks the 18th day of a widening regional conflict involving the United States and Israel, with violence spilling beyond Iran’s borders.

In Iraq, a combined drone and rocket assault targeted the US embassy in Baghdad, while a separate strike reportedly killed four individuals at a location said to host Iranian advisors.

Elsewhere in the region, Gulf states continue to face fallout from the conflict. In the United Arab Emirates, a man was killed by debris following an Iranian strike, while oil facilities in Fujairah were again targeted.

In Lebanon, Israeli air raids struck Beirut’s southern suburbs and the town of Dahwat Aramoun at dawn. Hezbollah, in response, claimed it had engaged Israeli forces in the southern town of Khiam, marking its first reported operation there since Israel announced a limited ground offensive.
