Egypt’s Mantrac, Pickalbatros expand energy-efficiency partnership
Second-year deal upgrades hotel power systems to strengthen sustainability across Egypt’s tourism sector
CAIRO, Egypt (MNTV) — Mantrac Egypt and Pickalbatros Hotels and Resorts have renewed their partnership to enhance energy efficiency and operational reliability across the group’s properties, building on a collaboration that began last year, according to a joint announcement.
The agreement includes a preventive maintenance program covering 93 Caterpillar generators, along with upgrades to 14 units and the integration of remote-monitoring devices that track performance and detect risks early to minimize downtime.
Officials said the new systems are designed to ensure uninterrupted power availability throughout the year, particularly during peak tourism seasons.
Mantrac noted that its nationwide network of service centers enables rapid technical support, reducing operational disruptions and maintaining the performance and lifespan of onsite power systems.
The company added that two new C15 generators have been installed to further reinforce energy infrastructure across Pickalbatros properties.
The partnership supports Egypt’s broader shift toward more sustainable and energy-efficient tourism operations, with both sides emphasizing reduced energy consumption, lower maintenance costs, and improved environmental performance as key outcomes.
Executives said the long-term collaboration aims to align hotel operations with national sustainability priorities, enabling the hospitality sector to maintain service quality while meeting growing environmental expectations from international travelers.
