Death and destruction in Gaza as Israel kills 100 Palestinians in 24 hours
Red Cross warns of total collapse as fuel runs dry, UN schools shut in East Jerusalem
GAZA, Palestine (MNTV) – Israel’s relentless assault on Gaza has left at least 106 Palestinians dead and 367 more injured in the past 24 hours alone, according to Gaza’s Health Ministry.
As many as 14 people have been confirmed dead since Thursday dawn alone.
The attacks span every corner of the besieged enclave, hitting homes, marketplaces, schools, and refugee camps.
Among the victims is freelance journalist Yahya Sobeih, killed just hours after celebrating the birth of his child.
Other casualties include women and children, many of whom were asleep when the strikes began at dawn on Thursday.
In central Gaza, three people were killed in separate airstrikes on Deir al-Balah and the Nuseirat refugee camp.
In Gaza City’s Shujaiya neighborhood, Israeli shelling killed one and injured several. An Israeli drone also struck Al-Rimal, killing three more.
In the north, five people died in Beit Lahia, while in southern Khan Younis, a young girl was killed when artillery hit tents housing displaced families.
Gaza’s emergency response is crumbling.
Most civil defense vehicles are out of fuel, leaving rescue workers stranded.
The Red Cross called the aid blockade “unacceptable,” warning that Gaza is “on a razor’s edge.” Medical supplies are nearing total depletion.
In occupied East Jerusalem, Israeli police stormed and shut down UN-run schools under the UN Agency for Palestinian Refugees, known as UNRWA.
Armed officers forced evacuations, sparking fears of violence against students and teachers. The Palestinian Ministry of Education condemned the closures as part of a “systematic assault” on Palestinian education.
Meanwhile, Israeli media reports say the army has razed up to 80% of Rafah city and its refugee camps using bulldozers and airstrikes.
The destruction is seen by many as a deliberate strategy to make Gaza uninhabitable.
Since October 7, nearly 52,800 Palestinians—mostly women and children—have been killed. More than 119,000 have been injured. Israel now faces international war crimes investigations, including a genocide case at the International Court of Justice.
