BAKU, Azerbaijan (MNTV) — Azerbaijan is advancing a comprehensive policy for sustainable financial development, including work on a national green taxonomy, the Asian Development Bank’s (ADB) Country Director for Azerbaijan, Sunniya Durrani-Jamal, said Thursday.
Speaking at the “ASM 2025 Launch Seminar” in Baku, Durrani-Jamal said the government is implementing a detailed roadmap for sustainable finance covering the years 2023 to 2026, APA-Economics reported.
She said the country is also developing a national green taxonomy — a classification system for environmentally sustainable economic activities — to harmonize definitions and ensure consistency with international standards.
“The efforts in this direction serve to create coherence and a common understanding at the international level,” Durrani-Jamal noted.
